The GK drill series is a drill for general hole drilling in aluminium materials.
Special shapes such as multi-step and double-margin specifications can be proposed flexibly, and stable drilling hole accuracy is ensured by the double margin and straight edge specifications. In addition, the three-edge specification achieves excellent hole positioning accuracy for cast holes.
The line-up includes GK drills for solid holes, GKT drills for cast holes and GKZ drills with DLC coating for high welding resistance.

“Current status and challenges”
- Traditionally, twist drills have been the conventional and mainstream drills for general holes drilling in aluminium.
- However, twist drills have low tool rigidity, which causes the drill to move, resulting in hole bending and chattering.
“Development points”
- The GK series uses thinning and double margins suitable for aluminium to suppress undesired tool behaviour, thereby reducing bending and chattering.
- The GK series also offers flexible proposals for special shapes such as multi-step and double-margin specifications, and a line-up of DLC-coated products with high welding resistance.
